De Pere Playground Program - ditch the digital brain drain

Outdoor play is important for kids! It improves attention spans, problem-solving skills, creative thinking, and reduces stress!  And, it just so happens to be tons of fun, too. So let's replace swipes with slides; log-ins with lawn twister; and clicks with crafts and games. Ready? Let’s do this.

The basics

De Pere's Summer Park Playground Program provides safe, supervised, structured and FUN activities for children 6-12 years old. This is a drop-in program where kids can come and go as they please and attend any park. Park Leaders help kids make memories to last a lifetime!

Something for everyone

De Pere Playground Program 2Summer fun isn't one size fits all. Each day, programs are tailored to keep kids interested and engaged. Water games. Board games. Sports. Artsy Kids? Come one. Come all. We’ve got you covered. Here's just a few of the activities available throughout the summer:

Playground Program Weekly Activity

One feature we love about our Park Playground Program is the ability for participants to attend any park they want, no matter which park they are signed up for. This helps encourage them to meet new leaders and make new friends in the summer. To better promote this fun aspect of our program, each week one park will host and plan a special activity unique to that parks' interest. 

Thursdays, 1:30 - 2:30 pm

  • June 12th - Kiwanis Park
  • June 19th - Optimist Park
  • June 26th - Patriot Park
  • July 3rd - Parks Closed
  • July 10th - Jim Martin Park
  • July 17th - Kiwanis Park
  • July 24th - Optimist Park
  • July 31st - Patriot Park
  • August 7th - Off due to August 6th Summer Carnival
  • August 14th - Jim Martin Park

Times

  • Monday- Thursday - 9 am - 12 pm & 12:30 pm - 4 pm
  • Friday - 9 am - 12 pm
  • Mid June - mid August
  • Parks close from 12:00 - 12:30 pm for lunch.

Important notes for 2025

  • Fee is $22 per participant
  • Parks will close at noon on July 3rd for the Holiday and August 6th to prepare for carnival 
  • Parks Program closed on July 4 
  • Park program starts on June 9th and runs through August 15th.

Must be ages 6-12. Program is NOT a substitute for childcare. It is offered as a drop-in program. Staff supervise registered children for scheduled activities but are NOT responsible for keeping track of children throughout the day. Children come and go as they please. Staff is not responsible for providing activities for non-registered children.
