How do I get a bartender (operator) license?

Just print the application form here and bring to the City Clerk's office, 335 S. Broadway.  You'll need to show your ID and also provide proof that you have completed a responsible beverage server training course that is approved by the Department of Revenue.  Still need to take the course?  Click here for training options.

Licenses are issued for two-year terms starting July 1 of any even-numbered year and expiring June 30 of the next even-numbered year.

Can I use my license anywhere?

Your license is valid to work at any establishment within De Pere's city limits.

How much does it cost?

The fee is $60.  Please note that it can take up to three weeks to receive your license.  If you need it sooner than that, you can pay an additional $15 for a provisional license.

I'm only bartending for a special event - do I still need to pay full price?

You can apply for a temporary operator license, valid for up to 14 days, for $21.

I have more questions.  Who can I contact?

Call the Clerk's office at 339-4050.  We're happy to help!
