What is Zoning?

Zoning regulates the use of land in the City of De Pere, which is important to ensure that incompatible land uses are avoided and that potential impacts to other land uses are limited. Zoning is accomplished by designating zoning districts to different parts of the City.

Within each zoning district, certain land uses are permitted and other land uses are restricted. The Zoning Ordinance lists the permitted uses in each district along with other requirements such as minimum lot size, building setbacks and maximum building heights.
