Open Swim

De Pere Pools are open June 7 thru August 17 for the summer offering community members and guests a wonderful opportunity for aquatic recreation and fun. Open swim times include both main pools and tot pools. 

Legion Pool - Hours of Open Swim

Monday - Friday

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

1:00 - 5:00 pm

6:00 - 8:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday 1:00 - 6:00 pm

VFW Aquatic Facility - Hours of Open Swim

Monday - Friday

Tuesday - Friday

1:00 - 5:00 pm

6:00 - 8:00 pm
Saturday - Sunday 1:00 - 6:00 pm

July 4th - Pools will close at 4:30 pm.

Pool checks

Pools will be cleared at 3:00 pm for 10-15 minutes to conduct safety checks.

Capacity limits

LEGION POOL: The pool capacity is 236 patrons.

VFW AQUATIC FACILITY: The pool capacity is 315 patrons.

Lap Swims

Purchase a lap swim membership for use at VFW Aquatic Facility & Legion Pool all summer (best value) or purchase lap swim general admission at the pool’s front desk when you attend.

Legion Specialty Hours

Family Swims

Wednesdays 6:00 - 8:00 PM

All family types are welcome. Limited admissions. Modified rules, including reduced restrictions on deep end use. Other programs will be run at the same time as family swim and sections of the pool may be closed for those programs. General admission rates apply.

Tot Pool Only Hours

Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Twice a week, families may enjoy morning tot pool hours at Legion Pool! Adult supervision required. Intended for children aged 6 and under. General admission rates apply. Not offered on holidays. 

Pool Closures

The pool will be closed if unsafe conditions exist or if there is an extended period of low attendance (less than 15 persons) during open swim.  Closures are determined by De Pere Parks, Recreation, & Forestry staff. Some examples of closure reasons include lightning/thunder, heavy rain or wind, unseasonable temperatures, mechanical issues, and contaminates (fecal). Once a closure is determined staff will notify any persons on site immediately and send out an alert as soon as possible.

SMS Alerts will be sent out through Civic Rec to our Summer Pool Closures & Delays activity any time pools are closed or delayed, outside of our normally scheduled closures.
