How do I request an absentee ballot?
By mail The completed form should be mailed to: City of De Pere Clerk's Office, 335 S. Broadway, De Pere WI 54115
If this is your first time requesting an absentee ballot, you must include a copy of your photo ID. If you have requested a mailed absentee ballot in the past, your photo ID is already on file and you do not need to send another copy. Indefinitely confined voters who request a mailed absentee ballot for all elections are exempt from the photo ID requirement.
Request your ballot early! We must send out your ballot within 24 hours. Track its progress on its way to you, and back to the Clerk's office, by visiting the MyVote website. It can take up to seven days one way!
Absentee ballots must be returned to the Clerk's office by 8:00 PM on Election Day.
How do I return my absentee ballot?
- A postage-paid return envelope is included with your ballot.
- The Supreme Court recently ruled in Priorities USA v. WEC that secure drop boxes are permitted under state law as a valid method of absentee ballot return. Therefore, the built-in drop boxes at City Hall and the Community Center will be in use for upcoming elections.
Who can return an absentee ballot?
A voter may return his or her own ballot. An individual may also return the ballot of anyone he or she is lawfully assisting, such as a voter with a disability or a hospitalized voter.
When does in-person absentee voting start?
In-person absentee voting always starts 14 days before the election.
Do I need my photo ID to vote absentee?
You WILL need a photo ID to vote in-person absentee, just like you do at the polls. A list of acceptable types of photo ID is listed here.
