WORKERS' COMPENSATION

The City provides workers’ compensation coverage for all employees injured while performing job duties.  If you are injured at work, notify your supervisor then the work injury nurse line. Please note, the City will be transitioning Workers' Compensation carriers effective January 1, 2026.  

  • If your work-related injury or illness occurs before January 1, 2026:
    • Report the incident to your supervisor.
    • Contact EMC’s On-Call Nurse at 844-322-4668.
    • Claims for injury or illness before January 1 will continue to be managed by EMC until they are closed.
    • For employees that have the EMC OnCall Nurse wallet card, you may dispose of that card as of January 1, 2026. 
  • If your work-related injury or illness occurs on or after January 1, 2026:
    • Report the incident to your supervisor.
    • Contact the 24/7 Work Injury Nurse Line at 855-438-4577.
    • United Heartland will process claims for injuries or illness on or after January 1, 2026.
