Overflow Recycling Collection

In addition to the year-round tags that citizens can purchase, the City of De Pere does collect overflow garbage and recycling free 4 times per year. These collections occur in January, April, July, and October. Garbage is collected during the second full week of these months; Recycling is collected during the second and third weeks on your normal collection day. During these respective overflow weeks, you may put out up to 5 extra bags of normal garbage on your garbage day, and extra recyclables in cardboard boxes (do not put your recyclables in plastic bags!) on your next recycling date. Recycling is limited to the approximate equivalent of one additional cart full. The boxes used for recycling, must fit in the respective cart when empty. The driver will dump your cart and refill it with the overflow materials. Oversized boxes (such as those from furniture and appliances) must be cut down. Garbage is limited to five 13 gallon kitchen sized garbage bags.
