HEALTH ASSESSMENT

The City offers Health Assessments (HA) with a biometric screening for active benefit-eligible employees, and spouses enrolled on the medical plan.  HAs are a common tool to help people understand their current overall health.  The HAs are not required, but are encouraged and participation is incentivized with Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) dollars.  Employees and spouses enrolled in the health plan are eligible to receive additional dollars in their Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) on an annual basis with completion of the Health Assessment (HA) and preventative exams (annual physical and age appropriate screenings with your primary care provider and dental exam and cleaning).  Additional information on the preventative exam requirements is on the Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) page.

When do I need to complete my HA?

Health assessments are held in the fall and will need to be completed by Thanksgiving.  Separate communication is sent in the fall to all employees about health assessments and how to schedule.

HA Results

For individuals who choose to participate, they will receive a personalized report identifying their overall health status with individual scores being identified.  The report is available on your MyHealics dashboard, along with support materials to answer questions and trigger the thinking process to begin making lifestyle changes.  This road map to wellness identifies major health risks, which with proper guidance, might be lowered to potentially prevent chronic health problems.  If an individual already has a chronic disease, an HA can help identify how treatment is working and provide ways to reduce long-term effects.

For the City, we get different information from the HA’s.  We will get an Executive Summary overview which does NOT provide any personal health data.  We want participant’s relationship with their doctor to be the place that their personal numbers are discussed, not with the employer.  Our goal is to understand the overall health of our employees as a group and help identify resources that we could provide to assist in enhancing our overall health.

Will my doctor get a copy of my HA results?

Blood results are downloaded into the Bellin Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Bellin patients will have results in the system for their primary care physicians.   Patients from other systems will be able to provide their physician with their results or the physician may look in the EPIC (EMR) system for them.
