Where do I place garbage/recycling carts for curbside collection?

  • Place your carts at the curb (not in the street) with the front of the lid facing the street and the wheels towards your house.
  • Please keep your carts at least 4 feet away from each other, mailboxes, utility poles, trees, parked cars or other objects.
    • The best solution is to place your bins on opposite sides of your driveway.
  • During the winter months, carts should be placed in the driveway apron or a cleared area on the curb (not in the street).

Please remember carts must be placed to the curb no later than 6:30 am on your collection day.

Where should I store my carts between collection days?

All carts must be stored or screened so that they are not viewable from the property line or any public right-of-way.  Acceptable storage locations include a garage, outbuilding or other permitted enclosure. If no such location exists, residents may use an acceptable screening device (bushes, fences, etc.) that visually blocks the view of all carts.  Screening devices must be properly maintained and in a good state of repair.

Please do not store carts near a furnace, grill or any other heat source.
