Preparing for Influenza and Other Respiratory Illnesses, such as COVID-19
De Pere Health Department would like to remind the public of important prevention measures they can take to protect themselves and their families. We remain in close contact with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) for updated information and through our ongoing preparedness efforts we are able to keep the safety of our community in the forefront.
The (CDC) and (DHS) and we in Public Health are recommending the following steps:
- Cover your coughs and sneezes with your sleeve or a disposable tissue then wash your hands
- Wash your hands often and avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Stay home from work, school or childcare if sick
- Avoid close contact to a sick person
- Wipe down frequently touched surfaces
- It is not too late to get a flu shot!!
