The De Pere Health Department and De Pere Fire Rescue offer a collaborative program to help citizens in need review and find ways to live safest within their homes.

This program is called the Stay at Home Assistance Program. During a visit, a representative from the fire and health department will come to your home, consider your needs, review their findings with you, and connect you with the resources available in the community. 

Fall Facts:

  • 25% of people over the age of 65 fall every year
  • On average, 32 falls a day are reported by Brown County ERs, hospitals and local EMS
  • Falls can lead to loss of independence, disability and even death
  • Falls can be prevented!

Services in the Stay at Home Assistance Program

  • Check smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. If defective, they will be replaced FREE OF CHARGE
  • In-home safety education, which includes fire and fall prevention FREE OF CHARGE.

Who is eligible for a Stay at Home Assistance Program visit?

You are eligible for this valuable visit if you:

  • Live in the City limits of De Pere. 
  • Are a citizen in need of service.
