DE PERE – Mayor James Boyd has called for a special meeting of the City of De Pere Common Council to consider implementing a city-wide face covering ordinance. This meeting will take place on Tuesday, July 28, at 6 p.m.

This proposed ordinance would require people ages 5 years and older to wear cloth face coverings or face shields inside buildings accessible to the public and when utilizing public transportation.

Children younger than 5 and people who can't wear masks because of medical or mental health conditions would be exempt from the requirement. The proposed ordinance also does not require anyone to wear masks outside, while exercising in a gym, or in houses of worship.
