History

In April 1922, Legion Park was officially designated and named. It was previously known as the "pine grove park area" in the City’s second ward. Initial discussions by local committees suggested adding a football field, baseball diamond, and tennis courts to this beautiful location. Later in the 1920s and 1930s, as the park grew, plans expanded to include a playground and additional amenities. Now, over 100 years later, this space has blossomed into a thriving community gathering spot, also offering a pool, pickleball courts, a disc golf course, and much more.
